The Almost is a band that emerged under the wings of Underoath founding member Aaron Gillespie. On previous releases, he had created and recorded all of the songs.
On this album, the other band members were able to play a more influential role, thankfully.
Although I think this EP has improved over previous releases, there is still nothing that stands out to me.
I understand that many people value the musical contributions that Gillespie has been able to bring into the world. I think Underoath is a decent band, but I think it has improved since Gillespie left.
There is nothing special about this album, or the band for that matter.
It is just your typical Christian rock band, which just isn’t my cup of tea. There is nothing memorable about these tracks and that is a problem.
The Almost isn’t quite there — almost, but not quite.
