Tupelo Honey’s first full-length album, Caught Up In The Excess, is a well-polished album perfectly balanced with strong ballads and guitar-based rock songs, in addition to seven acoustic versions of some of the band’s best songs.
Produced by Jeff Dalziel (Thornley, Rex Goudie, Edwin), the album offers a more mature sound from the band’s earlier EPs Machines & Robots and The September Sessions — one that is more concerned with giving each individual song the treatment most bands only give to its singles.
Caught Up In The Excess doesn’t require repeat listens before songs like “Falling” get stuck in your head.
It’s a solid effort from an even more solid band.
